Au Bon Climat Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir 2014

The 2014 vintage gave us ripe but nicely fresh Pinot's from this part of California, and this is a great example. Pretty plum and wild strawberry aromas add notes of spice and chocolate with air. The aromas carry over to the nicely rich but still elegant Pinot that finishes silky and smooth. Will take a light chill if you like and very fine value.

Murky florals. Condensed fruits. Intense herb. Savory pepper. Underlying pyrazine. Primary, unstable structure. Well worth the $19 admission.

Björnbär och cassis!!! Charkuterier och franska fat (?). Amerikanskt fet i doften och franskt elegant i smaken, perfekt kombo!

Very nice, fruit lemonady pinot. Strawberry n raspberry, quite fine. Lost a little freshness w temp n time, actually, but still fine.

Great Pinot, great value. Bought for $21.99 and tastes like a million bucks.

Mycket fin bärighet, fin och lagom ekkaraktär. Lakrits! Len och välbalanserad. Betydligt bättre än många pinot från norra Cali.

Thoroughly enjoyable entry level PN. Sappy fruit with an herbal earthy component in the nose. Good concentration, nice balance. Already showing nice aromatics, soft texture, and passable acid balance. Not to age but to drink over the next year. Ordered it with dinner at The Village Idiot in Lexington, KY. Took the rest of the bottle back to the hotel room. These are day 2 notes.

Lovely fragrant perfume. Light/medium weight palate with some sap and forest floor. A little simple but drinks to its price point.

2014, Enjoyed it even more than the last vintage. The nose leaves little to be desired, with dried cranberry, a yellow bell pepper-like vegetal note, mushroom, and ripe cherry. The palate features more cranberry, underripe strawberry, herbs de Provence, and a silky finish. Flowing. No rough edges, drinks really well young. Always a good bottle from Mr. Clendenon.
