Astrolabe Wines Province Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2015

One of New Zealand's best Sauvignon Blanc houses turns out another fine, ripe, Sauvvy in 2015. Lots of tangy, refreshing, fruit here with just a touch of grassy complexity. A fine sipper and better match for seafood, salads and cheese. "Crisp lime, grapefruit, passion fruit and lemongrass flavors show accents of fresh ginger. Smooth and succulent, especially on the finish." WS 90

Solid Sauvignon blanc. Amazing fruits and berries yet retains some dryness. Smooth finish, no lingering bitterness whatsoever. Better than a Kim Crawford, maybe not quite a Cloudy Bay. $17.99 at Piazza

An entry-level better than most super-premiums. Marlborough Sauvignon boredom antidote.

Great aroma and flavor, both are intense but there is depth and purpose to all of the components. Very long finish, alcohol is a little biting but overall very nice

I loved the assertive grapefruit and Meyer lemon that hit first. There's also medium acidity to balance the fruit and chalky, steely dry minerality. Flowers and herbs sneak into the aroma. Tropical fruits develop. This was an excellent match for roasted halibut and asparagus with spaghetti simply dressed with olive oil, garlic, and cilantro.
