Aleria XX 270 Syrah 2013

$19.99

Ripe, pure, sophisticated. "Sports an inky purple color to go with incredible granite influence in its liquid rock, blackberry, raspberry, floral and peppery bouquet. Medium to full-bodied, with incredible purity, this is a seriously elegant, classically styled Syrah to drink over the coming decade." WA 93

From Corsica, but tastes like a "New World" Syrah. Bright fruit flavors. Not many organic notes. Nothing like I expected but really drinkable. Balanced acidity. Nice surprise!

A great value wine! Tried this about a year ago, like it an bought a few bottles for the cellar. A 100% Syrah showing inky purple color with aromas of black and blue fruits. Flavors blackberry, raspberry, and spice grace this outstanding wine. Full body, tannins are softer, good balance with acidity and ends with mineral tones. Again nice value.

From tasting of 2013 Syrah varietals. Old world. Flat. Thin. Medium low alcohol. Medium ruby. Nose Opened up to a very different wine after 20 minutes. Taste remained flat. Small for Syrah

Not bad. If you were judging based on color, you'd assume this to be way bigger than it is. The nose is spicy black fruit... But the palette is tart raspberry that is very light flavor in the mouth.
