Tar, earth, extremely tannic. Very drying.

Nice Italian sangiovese — leather, game, herbal, cherry. Did not enjoy as much as the ‘15 brunello I had on my birthday. But that was higher rates and mire expensive ($130, 96 pts RP). This was $90, 94 pts RP.

Patio gathering with a couple friends and I paired this with homemade pizza oven pizza. I wish I had taken better notes. Decanted for about an hour. Rustic nose. Dried fruit. Tannins that were both smooth and rough (hard to describe). Really lovely. Will wait a couple years before opening another one.

Thick dark fruit with a tarry tart note. Very dense and compact. Still tannic- not really open for business. Not enough familiarity with these young ones to know where it’s going, but seems promising

Nose with more earthy notes than the Renieri, more reminiscent of brunello. Black cherry, leather and tar also evident on the nose. Rich black cherry and cocoa powder mixed with earth, backed by firm tannins. Full body. Long finish with dark fruits and tar notes. Let this age a few more years. 4/22/9/4/4+ 50 = 93 pts

Really modern on the Nose. Very smooth. Almost edgeless. Nice fruit. Spice is submerged a bit. Hint of heat. Well made for what it is if you like what it is.
