#AgedWineTuesday Ruby in color with a wide brown/ brick rim. Medium bodied with medium acidity. Dry on the palate with nice complexity. Showing black fruits with wood, earth, vegetables, spices, tobacco leaf, bitter herbs and peppercorn. Nice finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries. This 14 year old Brunello lost a lot of its fruits at this point. Soft and elegant. Earthy and better with food. I paired it with a prosciutto and arugula pizza. 14.5% alcohol by volume. 90 points. $100.

Initially thought opening this might be infanticide, but at two hours open it’s superb. Cherry fig paste, rose petal, and wet brick, with licorice, thyme, and damp earth.

A bit restrained, turning to garnet color, showing dried cherries, underbrush, wet earth, herbal tones with a medium body, well integrated alcohol and subdued oak. Quite balanced but needs a little time to shine.

Dark cherry, black olive, mint, tobacco, roses on the nose. Pretty. Punchy and dense on the palate- quite tight and tannic still. With time in the glass it’s opening up to be a really lucid and detailed wine but for now the tannins and acid are quite prominent. Excellent potential but probably worth waiting a good five years before it’s really singing
