Just a few bottles from an awesome Open That Bottle Night celebration this past weekend. One of the awesome bottles @Keith Fisher broke out...this is drinking really well with little air time. It’s dusty, elegant and also gripping. Loads of dark red and black fruit. Dates, mocha and dark chocolate. So good.

Pure perfection from Napa Valley, the 2006 is at its peak with incredible aromatics of currants, smoke, tobacco, and floral notes all define the perfect bouquet. Its layered texture, ultra-fine tannins, and perfect balance lead to a perfect ending with varied spices and dark berries lingering on the pallet. Definitely needed to breathe for at least 2 hours as the first taste after pulling the cork was too powerful and acidic.

We decided to break into our stash of Scarecrow to celebrate the end of May and we were not disappointed! The 2006 is at its peak; the tannins are fully integrated and are soft. Distinctly from Rutherford with its dust and gravel on the palette that gets more pronounced with time in the glass. Red-black fruit flavors add to glass of liquid delight. This wine should stay in its elite status for several more years to come.
