Young and expensive, highly rated, killer vintage. All of that means high expectations. After a thorough decant and paired with some rather fatty lamb chops & some rocking homemade pesto, I'm still waiting for things to come together. Still waiting for what I spent to come along but am watching the doubt continue to fill the glass. Underwhelmed. Disappointed. This is an overrated wine that costs about 2.5 times what it's worth.

Quite sturdy even after 3 hours in the decanter. This will hold for some time. Structure still dominates but it has dark fruit and savory aromas.

Brought back from winery. Red fruit nose. Delicious aged brunello drinking as expected. Delicious. Smooth almost non-existent tannins. Cherry leather with long length. Delicious with cheese. Love it.

Outstanding Brunello.. lavender on the nose.. cherries, currants and mint on the palate.. kept getting better with air!! so good with cacio e pepe!!

Surprisingly fruit forward on initial tasting after about an hour decant. Expected more tannins and structure but delicious regardless. Changed dramatically after 24 hours, fruit faded sharply to be much more mellow, but tannins didn’t emerge, seemed a bit unstructured. Not sure if at this age it’s just muddled and will benefit from a few more years or if it’s peaked and should be enjoyed now. Certainly very enjoyable currently.
