This iconic wine is always enjoyable at this age. Showing great complexity and mouthfeel. Dry on the palate with black fruits, earth, chocolates, tobacco, spices, mocha, coke, vegetables, pencil lead and peppercorn. Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and long legs. This 8 year old is drinking very nicely now and will age nicely in the next decade. Needs 3 hours to open up properly and show some tannins. Long finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries. A great wine to have with good friends. Thank you David for sharing. I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses. Delicious. Robert Parker 93 points. A blend of 80% Sangiovese, 5% Cabernet Franc and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. 14.5% alcohol by volume. 93 points. $120.

A truly remarkable expression of what a Super Tuscan can be. Antinori's innovative blend started the craze back in the 1970's. This vintage is worthy of the admiration. A bold blend of not only local favorite Sangiovese but Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. On the nose you're immediately hit with rose petals, allspice and forest floor. On the palate the structure truly reveals itself. Dark, sour cherry, raw cocoa, a little oaky vanilla and a hint of charred orange rind. Incredibly diverse flavor profile backed up with plenty of soft, dusty tannins and enough acidity to hold for years to come. One of the greats. -ToasT Enoteca & Cucina

One of the most forwardly fragrant vintages of this I've had. Better after 24 hours open.

Doubtless they nailed this one. Great Sangio flavors with cassis additions framed by sweet and cosy tannins. Long, fresh and impeccably balanced.

Slightly austere with excellent structure. Nose exhibits blueberry, crushed wet stones and a hint of caramel. The first sip is all blueberry and tannin. But as it opens up you get more mellow cassis and leather.

A little closed down right now, not as much fruit as I thought there would be.

Really nice and pleasant blend. Young and a bit cranky but rewarding with some air. Dark black fruits, fennel seed, turned wet earth, coffee, cedar, cocoa, tobacco, and dried flowers. Enjoyed the acid that balanced the forward but fine clay-like tannins.
