First of the blind red wines at this quarter's S&E Wine Club, which for red was either Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc or Merlot from either Rutherford or Stags Leap District. We brought this bottling. Deep garnet red with bricking edges. Slightly aged nose with dust, woody, black tea, and dark cherries. Well integrated and balanced tannins (6.5/10). Medium plus to full bodied with quite a bit of earthy notes. Layers of dried cherries, black cherries and crushed rocks. Long and lingering finish. Impressed but expected for this 20 year old bottling from Lokoya, believe the fruit comes from the Beckstoffer Georges III vineyard. Drink till 2021.
