Popped and poured; no formal notes. I would still categorize the 2013 as developing and in a really good place right now. Secondary characteristics are just beginning to show themselves and the fruit and structure are in good balance. Pretty much a fastball right down the middle of the plate as far as Napa Cabernet from Rutherford goes, and that’s a compliment. Drink now through 2038.

For my 2,500th review on Delectable. A wonderful Napa Cabernet sauvignon from a great vintage. Dry and fruity on the palate with black fruits and chocolate notes, light vegetables, pencil lead, peppercorn, dark coffee, spices, tobacco leaf and earth. Full bodied and bold with medium acidity and long legs. Still young and needs another 5 years to mature. Good right out of the bottle and better after 4 hours of airtime. 14.2% alcohol by volume. 92 points

Drinking this wine reminds me of touching a collection of Packards, gazing at antiquated film-capturing equipment and eating cheese and charcuterie with baguettes at Inglenook. Wine will always allow you to harken back to certain memories and moods...and with this one it's always a pleasant memory...of which I hope to make many more of

Classic CA cab in all respects. Add a decade of age and you can’t go wrong

7 years, oak has mellowed and has integrated a bit, good cherry note, tannin evolved and softened a bit.

Day 1: Didn’t like it. Day 2: still no good. Day 3: not sure why I kept it but had it next to a mediocre Cab and really enjoyed it. Remember it being too fruit forward initially but maybe I just needed to properly decant it. I’d try again.
