The owners of Hobel Wines came to town and put on a nice tasting, while also detailing their history. Very nice people and wines. They make two wines, both Cabernets from Calistoga. TRB is the winemaker. Sorry for the generic pic. Forgot to take a pic of the bottle at the tasting. En mag. 8-9yrs old and drinking well. Couldn’t tell if it was tired or just needed more of a decant. Acidity had really mellowed out, fruit was very pure and ripe (raspberries and blackberries) and it was beginning to channel some leather and clay notes.

10yrs old and still so much youth. You can tell this is a trb wine. Not sure if that is a good thing or not. Someone mentioned that it reminds them of his RM Panek bottling

Such a perfect place this is in right now. Soft and velvety while being big boned and lofty. Nose of red black fruits with hints of cardamom and cassis. A near perfect showing that matched perfectly with some amazing filet mignon. Just lovely.

My initial rating of this wine would have been lower as the mid palate was a little shallow in the first hour but when revisited later in the evening it had rounded out. Do yourself a favor a 2 + hour decant
