Hoisin sauce, so so so sick. Just why we drink wine. Leather. Just so so good. Hard to write a note as it’s so profound. Palate is perfect. Stunningly balanced. Root beer, ginger tertiary flavors. Just a wine is at double peak. Still has a youthful tang. Perfection.

Opaque and brickish red. Nose that screams Cote-Rotie. Amazingly rich in the mouth. A monster of a wine with a long finish.

A hint of cork holds back the greatness of this wine's nose, the mouthfeel and finish tell you it's a great wine tho

18.5. First and second bottles of a case, tried several years ago, were hopeless - murky, flat. So gave up but didn’t discard the remaining 10, which resurfaced recently. My son and my ex-wife tried one a week ago and said wonderful. Last night, I confirmed that. No excessive wood, indeedno flaws. Nose best early on, faded a bit. But mouthfeel, fruit and length exceptional. An outstanding CR - definitely superior to Chapoutier la Mordoree 2005 that I had last week, which was fine but not outstanding.

1983. Almost tawny port in color, but has clear and bright deep red/ruby core. Well worn leather, tar, underbrush, strawberries, violets, roasted meat, speck...on the nose. Silky and elegant on the palate with cherries, olives, and green tea.
