A touch of butterscotch on the nose then a deep blue gnarly fruit with a bit of tang and black pepper. Savory and delicious on the palate z quite cool blooded which is ironic given the vintage. Sour cherry notes on the end.

A lovely gift @Mike R. Old world Syrah on steroids. 03 showing zero signs of age. Nice oak treatment with notes of cherry compote, maple syrup and pine cones! Fine grained, soft tannins and moderate acidity make this a balanced point of reference.

This bottle was lit. Just at the inflection from extracted to resolved, the complex aromatics foretold an even more delightful rainbow of black tea, bacon fat, dark cassis and tapenade. Buttery smooth. Oaky tannins to take this baby another 10+ years easy.
