The signature wine from the exquisitely tended Puente Alto vineyard, deep Ruby with aromas of dark fruits and espresso notes, a blend of 91% Cab Sauv and 9% Cab Franc, aged for 15 month in French oak (66% new). On the palate pronounced flavors of black cherry and plum with herb spice notes. Firm tannins, long finish ending with herb tobacco notes, just beginning to open, enjoy!Tasting Sample!

Drinking this for science tonight, as it's guaranteed to be much too youthful at this stage. Picked up at Costco, quite a bargain there, to save me from opening the same in long term storage. Nose of dusty tobacco, cherry, freshly cut green pepper with some lingering mineral or light earth notes. Palate has a tannic mashup of red/black currant, blackberry, ripe cherry and a bitter herb note. Oak is very well integrated, you can almost lose track of it. I'd gently suggest a very extended decant, or wait a decade on this baby. I'd venture to say 2023 this will likely be still tight. Long haul wine.

Smells very green. Smoky green peppers, vegetal, but mixed with a swathe of luxurious plummy & leathery goodness. Complex in a unique way.

Opaque purple color with alluring red and black berry, violet, tobacco, graphite, crushed gravel and dried herb aromas. On the palate, it's medium-bodied, harmonious, persistent and fresh with vibrant acidity and dusty well integrated tannins. It shows enticing cassis, black cherry, blackberry, vanilla and extra dark chocolate with espresso bean flavors. Long finish with a pleasing bit of minerality. Approachable now with a decant, but will reward cellaring for 5-10 years. 2013 Vintage

Fun to compare this famed Chilean cab, also from 13’ in magnum, to the Merryvale cabs. A bit more savory and herbal, with hint of green bell pepper that’s signature of Chilean cab. Ripe dark fruits intertwined with tart fresh cherry fruits made for a supple yet vibrant palate. Quite elegant. I was not very impressed with couple of the older vintages I tasted. But this is great!

Time for some (w)rapping- gimme a beat!!! This was worth the wait. Dark rusty, murky heavy red. Licorice, pepper on nose. Mid-high tannins with medium body. Why is this the last bottle?
