The St. Estephe's of 1996 have impressed me since release. It is hard to believe they are 19 this year. This Meyney is young for its age and has the claret virtue of refreshing easiness. It also has superb curranty fruit and no shortage of complexity- and it doesn't need bulk to make it complete. The Meyney was great with our super savory Kobe Fred Steaks!

Super earthy and dusty notes up front. Super soft tannins with some acidity still left in the structure. If you have some don’t wait much longer to drinkers has definitely softened up but the finish lingers for days. Complexity with green olive tapenade, truffle, cassis and fig, it’s offering the advice of a wise sage but still the youthfulness in fruit of a young apprentice. A little salty shade to round out the finish. Great balance throughout 12.5%
