Dark ruby in color with a reddish rim. Earthy nose of blueberries, light cherries, black tea, wood, earth, green vegetables, graphite, spices, bitter herbs, bell pepper, peppercorn, forest floor and tobacco leaf. Medium bodied with medium acidity and nice legs. Dry on the palate with currants, plums, blueberries, earth, forest floor, green vegetables, graphite, spice box, mushrooms, black tea, bitter herbs and black pepper. Nice finish with soft tannins and tangy cranberries. This 10 year old Cabernet based Bordeaux from Pessac Léognan, is earthy with nice balance and a soft mouthfeel. A bit spicy with nice complexity. Still young and needs 3 to 5 years in the bottle to mature, but already enjoyable. Needs an hour to open up properly. A good wine to pair with food like game meat dishes. I paired it with a cheese plate and crackers. Robert Parker 92 points, Wine Enthusiasts 92 points, Wine Spectator 90 points, James Suckling 90 points. 13.5% alcohol by volume. 87 Points. $45.
