Scarlet tawny with mostly clear rims. Barely translucent in the center. Impactful and exciting nose. Notes of black cherries, blueberries, cracked walnuts, cut Cuban cigar, some dry brush and a little camphor. Smooth in the mouth. The nose is so floral, which makes up for some fading fruit in the finish. I think this bottle was slightly past its peak given the drying fruit posture, but the nose and scents make up for it.

Murky, tawny and opaque. Old Bordeaux nose. Notes of dark fruit, hickory wood, some mocha and unsweetened dark chocolate, and some herbal thing. Silky in the mouth with tannins fully resolved. Fruit is absent in the overall impact. Medium finish. Drinks well, but its highest peak seems to be in the rear view mirror.

A few days late in posting the Wednesday Wine Committee wines. Standard format with 1 sparkler, 3 whites, 4 reds and 1 dessert wine. All served blind. Enjoyable and drank younger than its age. I always get a cherry swisher sweets note with St Estephe wines. Very tart black cherries, currant, tart plum and herbs all over this wine. Tannins still holding up nicely. Not getting better, but will probably hold for a bit. I guessed mid-‘90s left bank Bordeaux.

Dark scarlet. Almost opaque. Fruit forward nose. Notes of raspberry, ripe plum, menthol, tobacco leaf, mint and some blue fruit. In the first few hours this shows nicely with a good balance of fruit and structure. Later in the night the fruit fades a bit, and you're left with acidity and some dryness. Had this rated higher early on but it declined a bit over the evening.

Very good but the tannins came thru after a while . Probably won’t get any better since the fruit will start to die as it gets older .

Heavy bottle stink on pop, then decant. Couldn't really touch this for about 2.5-3 hours until the nose collected itself. Well tanned leather, moist soil and ripe cherry notes eventually evident in the nose. Mineral cherry on the palate, the bottle was really starting to sing at about 4 hours, then it was gone. Really love the Cos d' in all vintages!
