Medium garnet, the 2001 Château Canon la Gaffelière offers gentle notes of dried red plum and figs, sweet tobacco, green olives, earth and farmyard. Quite savory on the palate with smooth tannins and dried red fruits, this 2001 has good energy left and should, if stored appropriately, hold up well for another 5 years or so. Drink now until 2027.

Popped this one to get in the Bdx-mood.... Funky stuff, truffles, bretty blackberries, compost, saddle leather, sweaty horses. St. Emilion - here we come!

A lot of horsepoop, and also underbrush, plum, cinnamon. Classic rightbank Bordeaux. Seems ready to drink now, no need to wait.

Very good stuff, although the horsey associations are covering the fruit. Enjoy them now, if you have some.
