Sipping Fine Wine
Celebrated 40th anniversary of Caymus in 2012, built by Charlie Wagner, Lorna Belle Glos Wagner and their son, Chuck. In 1975, they produced their first Special Selection Cab, which remains the only wine to have twice been named Wine Spectator's"Wine of the Year" (1984 and 1990 vintage). Sweet and rich, big ripe fruit, smoky oak, pepper spice with cacao and leather, super soft tannins, lingering on a well balanced finish ending with mineral notes. Wow!!! Easy drinking! Went well with USDA prime strip steak.

In 1975, Wagner’s produced their first Special Selection Cab, which remains the only wine to have twice been named Wine Spectator's"Wine of the Year" (1984 and 1990 vintage). Dark Ruby with rich, ripe berry fruit aromas, smoky oak and pepper spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry and cherry with cacao, leather & earthy spice. Silky tannins, long well balanced finish ending with earthy mineral character. Wow!!! Easy drinking! Went well with USDA prime strip steak.

Excellent. Tough to locate the 11 vintage on the secondary market. It has an exuberant nose and palette, with wonderful tannins and acidity. Finishes, long, strong and sweet. Caymus has such a consistent taste profile, it requires little announcement.

Drinking perfect right now - dark dark chocolate, extremely smooth in the mouth, with fresh ripe fruit both on the nose and tongue. I always like to lay Caymus down for 4-5 years, this proves exactly why.

Tons of raisened fruit and extreme concentration. If you love American oak, it has it in spades. Very clear its a Caymus.
