2001 Casanova Di Nero Cerretalto Brunello. Dinner during Quarantine. Drank with steak. Decanted and served. Took a little while to open up. Spice, blackberry, sour cherry, cedar, licorice, hay. Still lots of structure and tannin (though not overpowering). Blind tasting and I originally guessed Old Cabernet. Loved it. Decant for at least an hour prior next time.

2001 Casanova Di Neri Cerretalto Brunello. One of three wines we drank for the lunch which Ash prepared at the house. It was interesting to compare this wine (Sangiovese) with the 2001 Messorio (Merlot). Great structure, huge and powerful. Notes of dark fruit, leather, and wood/forest. Beautiful wine, but at this particular lunch, we all preferred the Messorio to this wine.

2001 Casanova di Neri Cerretalto Brunello. Drank during family dinner in Napa. This wine was perfect. Despite its youth, the wine was rounded and smooth with a long finish. We really enjoyed this wine.

Ok, I have four of these but not the balls to open one I am very happy to have them as they are very rare at $700 ea. the 2001's where sold out before they hit the bend and I got none at the time of release. If you have notes I'm all ears.
