New! The Ziata 2013 Sauvignon Blanc is one of the best new Sauv Blancs we've disovered. After 20 years of marketing Napa Valley and its wines, Karen Cakebread launched ZIATA Wines in 2008. “I had two goals: to create beautifully structured wines that reflect the vineyards they come from; and to be involved in every aspect making wine.” She named the brand in honor of her mother, Mary, and hired Anne Vawter, a protégée of Heidi Barrett, as winemaker. A stand out vintage, 2013 yielded this Sauvignon Blanc of stunning elegance and purity. Delicate aromatics of citrus oil, white flowers and apricot lead to a palate that is bright and focused yet with a touch of viscosity. Flavors of white grapefruit, lemongrass, green plum, citrus, gooseberry and fresh apricot support the distinctive lemon custard notes. Its finish is long, refreshing and fruit forward with apricot characters standing out in the end. An irresistible and mouthwatering wine that will pair with a wide range of foods and moods. Only 400 cases produced.
