Williams Selyem Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2021

$94.99

Rare new release from cult pinot producer Williams Selyem. The Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir is a classic. 92 Points Robert Parker: "Medium ruby, the Williams Selyem Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir offers spicy black fruits on the nose with savory and earthy undertones. The palate is bright and spicy with a finely grained texture and long, uplifted finish." Tasting Notes: Black cherry, musky herbs, and notes of pomegranate offer a more muscular counterpoint to the elegance of the Russian River Valley bottling. On the brooding nose are elements of smoky minerals and hints of flint add even more complexity. The traditional Sonoma Coastal profile really comes through on the palate with a robust Brazilian coffee complexion to the tannin that feathers out to an elegant minerally finish. Interlaced within this framework are flavors of Bing cherry and bittersweet chocolate. The Williams Selyem 2019 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir will offer a very wide window of drinkability due to its sheer density.

Medium Ruby color with aromas of berry fruits with notes of dried herbs, citrus and woody spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry, cranberry and cherry with espresso, vanilla and herb tea spice, well balanced with acidity. Fine soft tannins on a long finish ending with cacao, spices and slight earthy character. Very nice!
