Williams Selyem Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2019

$84.99

Rare new release from cult pinot producer Williams Selyem 93 Points Robert Parker: "Medium ruby-purple, the Williams Selyem 2019 Pinot Noir Russian River Valley has lush aromas of wild berry preserves, aniseed, forest floor, potpourri and tea leaves. The medium-bodied palate is deeply fruited, wonderfully spiced and seamlessly structured, with a very long, layered finish." Tasting Notes: Red cherry, strawberry confiture, and faded rose petal aromas seem to sing in the top registers in this alluring offering. Hints of beet root, dried herbs and wood spices offer some bass notes to complete this wonderful orchestral suite. With air, the aromas intensify with notes of Morello cherry. The palate is very dense on entry with a strong streak of minerality through to the finish. The tannins are extremely fine grained and reminiscent of Ceylon tea. The Williams Selyem 2019 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir is a classic, and highlights the elegance and power of a truly great growing region.

Pale ruby color. Aromas of dark cherry, dried rose petals and lavender. Fruit forward, smooth cherry, baking spices and dried herbs. Superb for Father’s Day!

Really tightly wound right now and less dark fruit than typical.
