An exclusive small-production Howell Mountain Cabernet from the owner of Peirson-Meyer winery. Limited. The Vinehouse 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend, principally Cabernet Sauvignon with a bit of St. Macaire (lost Bordeaux varietal). Both are estate grown on Howell Mountain. The result of this historic marriage; a big luscious sexy winewith long legs of intensity on the palate, and incredible depth of color. Highly recommended. Only 150 cases produced. With roots in the volcanic (Aiken) soils of Howell Mountain, our vineyard peers over the Napa Valley at an elevation of 1725 feet. Planted to Cabernet Sauvignon and Macaire, the vines are sustainably farmed with great care and attention to timing. Proprietor Alan Peirson.

The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain is plush and super-expressive right out of the gate. Inky dark fruit, gravel, spice and juniper berries. There is a ton of character here. Black cherry, game, smoke, licorice, tobacco and incense all build in a potent, savory Cabernet that delivers the goods. This is one of the most distinctive Howell Mountain Cabernet wines I have tasted in some time. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, January 2022)
