Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Yellow Label Brut Champagne Blend NV

$79.99

Hands down one of the most popular Champagnes in the world, the Veuve Cliquot "Yellow Label" Champagne Clicquot's signature brut non-vintage is loved the world over for its crisp, full flavors, consistent quality and celebratory yellow label. The classically-styled, dry Champagne is a blend of two-thirds black grapes (Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier) for body, balanced by one-third white grapes (Chardonnay) for elegance. This Yellow Label Brut is excellent with food and as an aperitif. Wine Spectator: "You cant lose with this classy wine. The refined apple, grapefruit and dough aromas follow through on the palate. Creamy and lively on the finish."

No notes. Friend’s 47th bday celebration. Memorable for the pretty fruit: custard, star fruits, & green grapes.

When La Veuve is on, she’s on. The toastiness, fruit and balance are all impeccable.

This entry-level Champagne is always nice to begin the evening with. Medium plus in body with medium plus sized bubbles and high acidity. Showing citrus, lemons, limes, earth, black pepper, minerals and light yeast. Tangy finish with limes and light almonds. Good right out of the bottle, and good by itself or with food. Nicely balanced and easy drinking. Very consistent through the years. 12% alcohol by volume. 89 points. $48.

Champagne House is judged on the quality of its Brut NV. The predominance of Pinot Noir provides structure, typically of a Clicquot, Pinot Meunier adds roundness & Chardonnay adds elegance. Light golden color, complex aromas of stone & citrus fruit & creamy biscuit. Tiny bubbles, light mousse, apple & orange citrus flavors with raspberry notes, good balance. The finish has notes of toasty nutty yeast, clean on the medium+ ending. Ok for a mass produced bubbly!

Some nice oxidative appley aromas. Palate is deep and hits the right notes. Well made, if not much verve. After being spoiled by great grower champagne all through quarantine, it’s actually surprising to try a bottle of big house bubbles I used to love and find it enjoyable but kinda boring.

Slightly sweet for my taste, but enjoyable enough in the tropical weather this Christmas 2019 in Florida with my kids and my Dad. To my Delectable community - In Vino Veritas. Enjoy!
