Vérité Le Désir Sonoma County Cabernet Franc Blend 2012

$389.99

In an historic moment, wine critic Robert Parker, Jr., of The Wine Advocate recently announced   twelve 100-point scores for Vérité’s three blends, Le Désir, La Joie and La Muse. This is the first time a Sonoma County winery has received this many perfect scores. Limited.100 Points Robert Parker:  "The 2012 Le Desir (64% Cabernet Franc, 24% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Malbec) reminds me of a young vintage of Ausone, such as 2005. The wine has amazing minerality and an explosive blueberry nose intermixed with blackberries, new saddle leather, charcoal and camphor. It is full-bodied, with espresso notes emerging on the palate. There are 1,900 cases of this super-endowed, prodigious wine that should drink well for 35-40 years. How fun it would be for mega-millionaires to put this in a blind tasting of a great vintage of Ausone in 10, 20 or 30 years from now."Vérité produces wines without compromise, wines that reflect the terroir in which they are grown. The name Vérité comes from the French word for truth. The wines are a combination of old-world experience and new-world fruit. Vigneron Pierre Seillan, Vérité’s first and only winemaker, is a man who understands and appreciates the importance of the land. He is intimately involved in every step of the winegrowing process from bud break to bottling.

Gorgeously perfumed. Such a baby, but lush and silky, so much depth, layers of cherry, plum, tobacco, candied flowers, earth, spice, more tobacco, goes on and on. Say what you will about Verite, yeah it's not cheap but some of the best damn wine I've had, particularly domestic. Until we meet again, Verite

Black fruit, dirt, and ink. Coravin’d an early taste. Even better in 5-7 years.

This is the Cult wine of Sonoma. Buy it. Drink it and enjoy it. Pierre Seillan is a magician. This is amazing.

The Cabernet Franc based blend from Verite had the heavy structure that Cab Franc brings. This one will also be around for decades. More expressive than the other Verite trio blends, it really should lay down for another ten years. Again, I was just an overly willing participant to someone opening this bottle early!!

Shows a richness and elegance only surpassed by the ripeness if black fruit, gentle touch if spice and French blond tobacco. Great length on the finish, seems to keep going.
