Turnbull Wine Cellars Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

$49.99

95 Points Parker                                                     A fantastic 2015 Napa Cabernet from Turnbull Cellars. Highly recommended. Made from all estate fruit from the Fortuna, Leopoldina, and Amoenus Vineyards, the Turnbull 2015 Napa Valley Cabernet is a great introduction to the Turnbull Winery. Winemaker Peter Heitz is garnering great acclaim for the work he's been doing at this small production facility, and it shows in this bottle. Of the vintage, Heitz says: “This wine captures the essence of where we farm in the Napa Valley. A wine of integrity, it’s a blend that we make to share at our own family table. A quintessential dirt to bottle wine that’s approachable at release and downright delicious. Robert Parker: "...Readers should check out Turnbull Wine Cellars without delay."

Big juicy mouthful. Good value. Made a perfect “second bottle” with BBQ steak and friends.

Leather, sorrel, boysenberry musky smell, blood ruby red, the thickness of grape fraun and leather come in with a big slightly rough tannin, cherry, boysenberry, acid there with tannin staying at end

Wine Down Wednesday at O’Bricks and MGR. Josh decanted and it did not disappoint! Mild tones of licorice and a balanced fruity finish. Can’t wait for next Wednesday !!!

Very young, displaying plenty of creamy vanilla oak on the palate. Behind that, though, there’s some terrific, lush fruit. This ought to be excellent in another 3-4 years.

2015 Turnbull cab! There is a wonderful bouquet of blueberry and raspberry jam. The initial palate is sharp boysenberry and not quite ripe blackberries. There is a sour beginning to it. The mid palate brings on the butter and dirt. A rich soil if I had to guess what dirt tastes like. It has a sharp mineral component to it. The finish is dry. No sour ending. That is only on the beginning. A very sharp and sour but wonderful wine.
