Limited new release 95 Points Robert Parker: "Consistently spectacular in the capable, meticulous winemaking hands at Turley Cellars, the 2013 Zinfandel Ueberroth Vineyard comes from one of the oldest Zinfandel vineyards in California (planted in 1885). The ungrafted, head-trained vines from steep limestone slopes just down the road from Justin Smith’s Saxum Winery have produced a monster and a fascinating Zinfandel in 2013. Coming in at 15.8% alcohol, the wine displays deep black raspberry and black cherry fruit, hints of crushed rock, and fresh acidity that is no doubt attributable to the pH of the limestone soils. The wine, in spite of its relatively lofty alcohol, comes across as remarkably elegant, concentrated, and stunningly proportioned. This full-bodied tour de force in Zinfandel winemaking should drink well for a decade or more."

Huge blueberries, cinnamon and chocolate. Just what you want Turley to be.

I'm still in awe at this wine and the history teamed with the location. 140 years old and producing fruit to this calibre is a credit to the organic farming.

Like silk...deep ruby nose, the abv of 15.8% has layed down nicely. This is quite an epic Paso vineyard, hands down one of my favorite Turley over the years! When in Querentine bust out the good stuff!

KWN Zin Edition! Wine 3. My contribution. Went above and beyond here on this one by uncorking at home and dumping into a different bottle in attempt to hide what is still obviously a Turley bottle when bagged. Little more acid present here. General consensus was stewed strawberry flavors. Finish seemed a bit thin. Dramatic difference after opening up, taking on more baking spice flavors and becoming much more complex.

I remember the last 2013 Ueberroth I had being much better. Little disappointed because it’s one of my favs in the Turley lineup.
