Turley Juvenile California Zinfandel 2014

$49.99

Very limited Turley Zinfandel. 90 Points Robert Parker:  "Turley’s 2014 Zinfandel Juvenile Vineyard is an assemblage of bits and pieces from different parcels, but overall from the younger vine portion of the multiple terroirs they exploit. The wine is a big, juicy, classic Zinfandel with a dark ruby/purple color, hefty power (15.5% alcohol), without a trace of heat or burn. It has loads of briary blue and red fruits, medium to full body, vibrant acidity, impressive purity and texture. This is a strong effort. Drink it over the next 4-5 years."

This was a great wine for tonight. Interesting and brought plenty of spice and fruit. We bought half a lamb at the rodeo this year, so when wife decided to make lamb stew, this became a great pairing. Yum!

Wow, going to need to get some of this wine. Less than $30. Silky smooth with intense fruit (raspberry, blueberry) and a cinnamon and pepper finish. Highly recommend as a daily drinker

15.5% alc. Always a GREAT value from Turley. Buy it by the case and enjoy it for the upfront fruit early on. UPDATE - Tasted 24 hours later and thinking this has gained texturally, flavor-wise and aromatically this deserves a better rating. 92 pts. for me now (up from 91).

Disjointed at first, but this was singing with about an hour of air.

Rose petal nose underneath strong heat. Firm, dark mid palate into smooth and lengthy finish. Certainly one to retaste.

Second wine for the flank steak and a real heavy hitter. Deep crimson red and purplish edges. An overload of spices, both dark and warm. Some smoked mesquite too. Slight heat on day one but wore off on day two. Moderate tannins (7/10) and moderate plus bodied. Almost full bodied. Lots of dark berries, forest floor and slight minerality in the finish. Minerality wore off on day two and the jammy texture really came through. Dry and long finish. Great value wine and excellent zinfandel. Drink till 2022
