Turley Duarte Vineyard Zinfandel 2014

$65

Very limited Turley Zinfandel. 91+ Robert Parker: "Playing it closer to the vest, but still impressive is the 2014 Zinfandel Duarte Vineyard, which comes from sandy soils as well as vines planted between 1890 and 1930 in Contra Costa County. This is another heady Zinfandel (15.5% alcohol) that exhibits a nice, dark ruby color and loamy soil undertones intermixed with blueberry, strawberry and cherry. It seems to be slightly more reserved and tighter, but spicy and rich. This seems like a candidate to improve for another several years and drink beautifully for another 7-8."

This was an enjoyable zin - red berries and spice, perhaps a white peppery spice.

Solid turley through and through. Lacking some dimension I’d expect from single vineyard but quite a crowd pleaser nonetheless.

Black jammy ripe fruit almost smoky leathery. Pallatte is Al.ost overwhelming fruity I tensity. Deep tar like flavors muddled fruits and peppery spices. High alcohol, good tannin structure with balanced acidity. Off the charts in every category. Woo!

Wow. Blueberry explosion. Has a lot of sweetness and is a touch hot but really fascinating wine. Glad I picked it for dessert.

This was enjoyable and good. Will be interested to see where it gets over time. Less fruity than the Dusi. A darker fruit taste.
