Very limited Turley Zinfandel. 91 Points Robert Parker: "The 2016 Zinfandel Cedarman Vineyard (which contains around 20% Petite Sirah) reveals a pure, fruit-driven bouquet of ripe cherries and cassis. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and chunky, with a fleshy core of fruit that only partially conceals the firm, chewy mountain tannins that assert themselves on the long finish... ...One of California's great wineries, Larry Turley's Turley Wine Cellars continues to play a critical role in safeguarding the Golden State's viticultural heritage, saving old, head-trained and sometimes own-rooted vineyards from destruction. With fully 29 different bottlings, Zinfandel (often complemented by small amounts of other co-planted varieties, such as Carignan and Grenache) is the standard-bearer here, though Turley also does a fantastic job with other varieties, most obviously Petite Syrah. Given how distinctive each of the single-vineyard bottlings is, it's tempting to suggest (though some will no doubt think it heretical) that Zinfandel might be the variety best adapted to expressing "terroir" in California."

Cedarman is blend of Rattlesnake and Dragon vineyards, a zin with a 20% helping of petite sirah. On pnp this exhibits an intoxicating nose and you can just sense the plush palate ahead. Dark cherry, brambly and full bodied. This is a great value and delicious. Oh, and it went great with
