Turley Cedarman Howell Mountain Zinfandel 2014

$59.99

Very limited Turley Zinfandel. 94 Points Robert Parker: "Another Howell Mountain cuvée, the 2014 Zinfandel Cedarman (15.65% alcohol) is broodingly dark, with rich, briary blackberry and blueberry fruit, full-bodied opulence, but still impressive, multilayered, pure and ripe. It contains a small amount of Petite Syrah. Drink it over the next 7-8 years...All told there are seven Zinfandels from Napa Valley, ranging from Atlas Peak in the south, to Howell Mountain in mid-valley, to the estate vineyard just north of St. Helena. As one might expect, all of these are remarkable Zinfandels."

Had two bottles hidden in inventory because it came from their other location that shut down. I love Howell Mountain. I Iove Howell Mountain Zinfandel (think Outpost). And I love it when Turley brings it all together! While not as deep and dark as most Howell Zins, this one is much more delicate...almost Pinot Noir in style. Our Mad Scientist Sommelier really ‘got me’ with this one.

Smelled like prune juice, but tasted like deft precision of mountain Zin winemaking!

With a moderate decant, it was aromatic, with rich core of red and blue fruits and some savory notes. Delicious. @ bottega in napa

Dark purplish red. Dark nose coated in dark cocoa, spices and some sweet spices too. Heavy and dry tannins (7/10) with a medium to medium plus body. A touch jammy yet restrained on the palate. Layers of bramble berries and spices too. Very dry and long finish. Drink till 2024.

Turley Cedarman Zinfandel Howell Mountain 2014 On the nose a pleasant mix of dried and tart red fruits mixed with cardamom and cinnamon with a decent plum sauce. The palate is jammy red fruits and hot, hot heat. The alcohol isn't as evident with food but on its own it's got a mean streak. Eat with a hangar steak with a port wine sauce. That'll do ya right.
