Torrin Tsundere Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2013

95 Points                                      From one of Paso Roble's up-and-coming superstars, this new release is extremely limited. The vineyard was planted by Justin Smith of Saxum and Eric Jensen from Booker.  Scott Hawley is owner and winemaker, with very small production each year.   95 Points Robert Parker:  "Another blockbuster, the 2013 Tsundere shows the more pretty style of the vintage, but certainly doesn't pull any punches with its graphite, black fruits, scorched earth and charred meat aromas and flavors. A blend of 30% Syrah, 30% Grenache, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Tannat aged in 70% new barrels, it has a full-bodied, pedal to the metal character on the palate as well as ripe tannin and a big mid-palate. Drink this hedonistic 2013 anytime over the coming decade or more... ...These latest 2013s are hands down the greatest wines to date from winemaker Scott Hawley. In addition to superb tannin quality, they have brilliant purity of fruit and concentrated, balanced profiles that will allow them to evolve gracefully. In addition to the core lineup of the Akasha, Banshee, Mavin and Tsundere, Scott has expanded the lineup with the James Berry Vineyard (first vintage was 2012) and the new Shadow Canyon Vineyard Syrah, which comes from a cooler site on York Mountain, on the western edge of Paso Robles."
