From one of Paso Roble's up-and-coming superstars, this new release is extremely limited. The vineyard was planted by Justin Smith of Saxum and Eric Jensen from Booker. Scott Hawley is owner and winemaker, with very small production each year. 94 Points Robert Parker: "The 2012 The Banshee Proprietary Blend is a big, full-flavored and intense wine that checks in as a blend of 40% Syrah, 35% Grenache and 25% Mourvedre. Aged 17 months in 30% new oak, with plenty of whole cluster, it has that same chalky minerality that is common in all of Scott's wines to go with lots of blueberry, black raspberry, herbes de Provence, tar and dried flowers. Savory, full-bodied, layered and beautifully made, with high-quality tannin, it's already drinking nicely, but will benefit from a few years of bottle age and have 10-15 years of overall longevity."

Drank over 3 days. It got better, fuller, richer every day. I'll let the rest of mine rest for a few years before trying again. It's a beauty.
