Has a nice fragrance of dark cherry and jam. Drinks well and is fruit forward with flavors of dark cherries, jam and spice. Given time to breathe, it finishes smoothly!

It seems all the 2018 reviews are from a couple years ago, and I bet they'd go up a point or 2 if they were drinking it now in 2026. This wine is very good, and I think the Syrah is helping it shine at 8 years of age. Nice dark cherries, plums, a touch of spice. Well balanced. I'm not a big fan of The Prisoner, but I'm a fan of this. Listening to Fountains of Wayne

Had it couple weeks ago at a friend’s house and it felt closed and watered down, not exactly the type of wine Prisoner would make, so I opened my own. If tasted blind, I would think this is a Garnacha, given its medium to full body. The 5% Syrah in this bottling is uncommon, possibly contributing to the subtle gamey and peppery notes? Darker fruits on the nose. Round acidity. Candied strawberry on the finish. Really nice.
