Small-production gem of a Cabernet from Robert Foley Located next to the Hourglass Blueline property and across the street from the famous Three Palms Vineyard, Switchback Ridge Vineyards has been farming their pristine land for decades and Bob Foley has been the man behind the incredible wine since the first vintage in 1999. The rich, rocky soils of this beautiful vineyard property consistently produce low yields of intensely flavored fruit, resulting in extremely concentrated, fruit driven wines that are the hallmark of Switchback Ridge.95 Points Brix26: "The Switchback Ridge 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon bursts from the glass with Bing cherry-like fruit aromatics introduce a harmony of black fruit aromas, thoroughly ripe without a trace of over-ripeness. Initial flood of fruit on the palate gives way to gently gripping tannins that coat the palate, with lingering berry, chocolate and coffee bean suggestions.”

Always s stellar PNP. Every time I open one I always think to myself: how much better would it be 3 years from now??? However., at this price point I’m not paying to store it for 3 years!!! A great value PNP!!

Happy early birthday, Kyle! One of our favorites - dark berry pie on the nose. The palate exploded with rich, opulent dark fruits, sweet oak, nice tannins and a full bodied texture. This was one of the first "boutique" wines we discovered in the Valley years ago, so when we saw it on the list we had to get it for that reason alone! It's young, but sooo good. And the guy across from me is all smiles.

Is there a more underrated producer in all of Napa Valley than Switchback Ridge?? So many people have never experienced it, which is a shame. The Peterson family (and their historic vineyard) puts out some of the most supple wines you'll ever encounter. The wines have this incredible and distinctive nose that is sweet, luscious, and one of a kind. The '13 Cab hasn't been scored yet by Parker, but the '12 received 96 points. So yeah, you should get some. Whether it's from us or someone else, you absolutely need to try the Cab AND the '12 Merlot. If you honestly don't like it, let me know and I'll make it up to you. Seriously

Black plum cassis, black licorice anise and decayed floral nose. Nice wild ripe blackberries, slightly spiced black plum, black raspberries, dark cherries, black licorice anise, Asian spice, black tea, tary, soft leather, dark dried floral bouquet, crumbled volcanic minerals. Tannin are soft and dusty. Acid is high. Finish is rich & ripe sliding to dry.

Had to do it! Tried my New Switchback Switchback Ridge 2013 Cab! Wow thought the 2012 was Best yet from them! This 13 Blew it away. Massive fruit component to this 15.5 alcoholic blend! You Can Not taste the alcohol at all. This Cab is very well balanced by fruit, tannin, and structure!!! CB says 98+-!

Such an unbridled beauty! This is pedal to the metal with intoxicating berry compote laced with swiss chocolate in the aroma. Mind bending intensity and wonderful structure. May not be for everyone, but it IS for me!!! Also, an absolute pleasure to meet Mrs. Kelly Peterson-Holmes as she presented her wines admirably.

One of the best cabs I've ever had. All the classic tastes of s great California cabernet (cherries, black currant, and the interesting hint of Virginia tobacco), but welded together in a smooth way that makes them tough to discern and all the more rewarding on the finish. Enjoy!
