A fantastic new Pinot Noir label from - get on the bandwagon now! 95 Points Pinot Report: "Deep ruby color; deep, spicy, earthy cherry aromas; deep and very complex cherry and earthy flavors with lots of spice and oak notes; great texture; great structure and balance; long finish. Big, bold Pinot that's also layered and nuanced. Needs time and will have a long life...nice depth and structure that is a testament to the fact that an appellation blend in the hands of the right winemaker can be as good or better than a vineyard designate."The 2013 vintage of the Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir showcases a number of exceptional coastal vineyards. These vineyards span the whole breadth of Sonoma County, from the southern Petaluma Gap to northern Annapolis. Pinot noir from Sangiacomo and Rodgers Creek vineyards provide familiar lush textures and concentrated flavors. Campbell Ranch adds highlighted fruit characters. Riddle and Wohler vineyards add big ripe berry fruits and richness to this complex Pinot noir. The 2012 vintage shows bright aromas of crushed berries and dark cherries with notes of earth and forest floor, leading to lush textures and a long finish. A respected wine critic said it best "...a testament to the fact that an appellation blend in the hands of the right winemaker can be as good or better than a vineyard designate." This wine is a tremendous value at $39! Only 925 cases produced

Always a strong showing from this producer, but not as good as the 11 and 12 vintages. Lots of cola and cherries on the nose, which is consistent with the palate. The taste and texture is modest. Overall, a good example, but not great. At the $40 price-point, I want more excitement.

Ripe cherry and cranberry fruit with a touch of cola and a load of spice, it is more exuberant than what I normally prefer but keeps from going over the top and was fantastic with Thanksgiving dinner.

It’s ok but it falls flat for me. The complexity falls short. Cherries.
