A fantastic new small-production Chardonnay from the famed Durell Vineyard made famous by Kistler. 95 Points Robert Parker: "A steely, mineral-dominated white, the 2013 Chardonnay Durell Vineyard was made from the Old Wente clone and was aged in 40% new oak. A pebbly, rocky minerality along with notes of white peaches, honeysuckle and a subtle touch of roasted nuts emerge from this full-bodied, complex, impressively endowed, multilayerd wine. It is capable of evolving for 5-6 years... ...Since Sojourn Cellars jumped into the wild and competitive wine marketplace several years ago, they have proved to be adept at turning out a large line-up of high quality as well as good value wines. Their current offerings include three Chardonnays, six Pinot Noirs and four Cabernet Sauvignons."

The age served this wine well! Bolder and deeper than previous bottles. Great start to dinner!

Medium gold color. Massive oak, with some butterscotch, perfume, and lime on the nose. Palate is drenched with more butterscotch, butter, popcorn, and coconut. Tiny finish. Feels like I'm sitting at the movies!!! I like it, but don't love it. A touch too much OH as well. Definitely doesn't lack body or flavor.

Great start to dinner! Refreshing nose with hints of apple, lemon, and sage. Smothers the palate nicely, and is much thicker than most Chards. Paired well with Beets and Trout. Definitely a go to everyday Chard in my mind.

Rich, creamery butter. Where's the toast?
