Sine Qua Non Piranha Waterdance Syrah 2014
Extremely limited released from cult wine producer Sine Qua Non. 97-100 Points Robert Parker: "LThe 2014 Syrah Piranha Waterdance is young and unevolved (more than the Grenache) and sports an inky blue color to go with lots of minerality, notes of cassis, violets and pepper, full-bodied richness and a surprisingly serious, structured, even masculine vibe on the palate. A blend of 81% Syrah, 8% Petite Sirah and the rest Mourvedre, Touriga Nacional and Graciano, fermented with 26% whole clusters and aging in 54% new French oak, it will be bottled just after the Grenache, in April of next year. "

One of the most open knit SQN Syrahs I’ve ever had. I got to this after it had been opened maybe 30mins and it was singing! A wine that envelops all the senses. Smoked brisket, teriyaki sauce, iron, stemmy blackberry aromatics. A plush and iron fist in a velvet glove on the palate. Glycerin like texture. Ripe blackberries and rhubarb pie in the middle with a savory, smoky finish that lasts forever. Incredible! Thank you @Keith Fisher

Enjoyed this 100 point beauty that I acquired from @David L . thanks bud! Dinner with Christine, my Dad and his wife Joan is alwsays a great time to uncork one of these beauties. Stunning nose, elegance and finesse on the palate even if a huge monster. Godzilla in a pair of tights perfectly performing Swan Lake! Lush dark fruit, licorice (which I love) and an epic long finish. Truly spectacular! Everything one would expect from a badass SQN

2014 vintage. Last tasted 4.26.23. Decanted both times. Deep, thoughtful nose interspersed with bludgeoned moments. Massive bod. A great blood orange streak in there from mid-palate to the not so bitter end. Still carrying plenty of baby fat and built for the long haul. 1.24.24.
