Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

$125

New vintage of Silver Oak 2015 Napa Valley Cabernet now available. The Silver Oak Napa Cabernet Sauvignon is more limited in availability than the Alexander Valley.  Selected from vineyards throughout the appellation, it is 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot and 7% Cabernet Franc. Full-bodied, chewy, and muscular with an inky dark ruby/plum color, and hints of wood smoke, tobacco, cinnamon, espresso roast, and herbs, this dense, chewy, lavishly oaked wine should drink well for 10-12 years. Winemaker Daniel Baron's Tasting Notes:  "Our  2015  Napa  Valley  Cabernet  Sauvignon  has  a  deep,  rich  red  color  with a purple rim. A robust wine with an assertive and alluring attack, it has  notes  of  strawberry,  cigar  and  tea  leaves  with  a  touch  of  black  pepper and clove. A mouthwatering mid-palate of raspberry is followed by  an  expressive  and  bright  finish.  With  lush  and  silky  tannins,  this  ageworthy   wine   will   show   beautifully   through   2038   given   proper   cellaring conditions."

A classic silver oak with structure, integrated tannins, and rich red fruit. We bought a bottle at Bellagio for $27 - the best $27 Cabernet I’ve ever bought (and consumed!).

It was good, it stayed good, it was intense. Yes strong oak notes, as to be expected, up front but well integrated with the dark fruit. Nice depth and a soothing finish. Very balanced.
