Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2011
New vintage of Silver Oak 2011 Napa Valley Cabernet now available. The Silver Oak Napa Cabernet Sauvignon is more limited in availability than the Alexander Valley. Selected from vineyards throughout the appellation, it is 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc. Full-bodied, chewy, and muscular with an inky dark ruby/plum color, and hints of wood smoke, tobacco, cinnamon, espresso roast, and herbs, this dense, chewy, lavishly oaked wine should drink well for 10-12 years. Winemaker Daniel Baron's Tasting Notes: "Our 2011 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is an elegant representation of Napa Valley Cabernet from a cool vintage. It presents an opaque garnet hue in the glass and reveals aromas of sandalwood and roasted meats. Flavors of vanilla, coffee beans and raspberries are buttressed by dusty tannins, firm acidity and a mouth-coating texture. Given proper cellaring, this wine should provide drinking pleasure through 2029."

Aged 24 months, 85% new & 15% 1-yr American oak. Palate fresh fruit flavors, sweet plum, blackcherry & dried blackberry, bits of oak & cacao peeking through. Tannins present, but a tad persistent. Long & elegant finish with vanilla & slight mineral tang. Drinks well now continue to develop over the next 15+ years! Outstanding! Tasting Sample!

An amazing Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. The bouquet was floral and earthy; beautifully pleasant on the nose. I'd fall in love with a woman wearing this as a perfume. Incredibly well balanced on the palate. Berries and cherries envelope and swaddle the tongue. Slightly tannic, but instantly drinkable. A long smooth finish follows each swallow. Treat yourself and the one you hold dear to this enticing elixir.
