Silver Oak 2010 Napa Valley Cabernet rare MAGNUM (1.5L bottle) now available. The Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is more limited in availability than the Alexander Valley. Selected from vineyards throughout the appellation, it is 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot. Full-bodied, chewy, and muscular with an inky dark ruby/plum color, and hints of wood smoke, tobacco, cinnamon, espresso roast, and herbs, this dense, chewy, lavishly oaked wine should drink well for 10-12 years Silver Oak Cellars produces some of California's most sought-after Cabernets and the 2010 Napa Valley Cabernet is another highly-collectible wine.

We decanted for about an hour in advance. Hint of cherry, lots of cassis/black currant, a faint thinned-butterscotch at the start of the finish. Oak seems present but not overbearing. An extremely enjoyable wine that felt balanced and complete.

my favorite wine out there. 9.9 rating. the only reason it's not a 10 is because I've had the privilege of drinking the '06

Surprisingly expressive aromas but a bitter 'green' quality and tightly closed tannins will require a few more years of rest in bottle or a few hours to breathe in glass.
