New release of Silver Oak's iconic silver label Cabernet! *PRE-ORDER NOW FOR AUG 6th RELEASE*The 2012 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a harmonious and vibrant wine. This full-bodied, classic expression of Alexander Valley Cabernet in a cool vintage has a bright ruby-red color with purple undertones. The nose exudes aromas of black cherry, cedar and black olives. On the palate, its dried herb, cocoa and lavender flavors are framed by dusty tannins and a savory texture. This wine finishes with lively acidity and a lingering persistence. Given proper cellaring, this wine should give drinking pleasure through 2029. Robert Parker: "The Silver Oak Alexander Valley cuvee is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged in new oak... Herbaceous, with sweet red and black currant fruit, spice box, and tell-tale oakiness, this is a wine to drink during its first decade of life.

Sipping Fine Wine
Blend of 98% Cab Sauv & 2% Merlot, blended then aged for 24 months in 50% new & 50% once-used American oak. Deep Ruby color with aromas of black fruit, licorice & minty floral notes. Palate displays rich ripe blackberry & black cherry, hint of sweetness, vivid acidity & the right touch of toasty vanilla oak, still youthful in development. The wine has nicely integrated tannins, still holds some grip on a long finish which should give way to let this wine age for the next decade+. Excellent.

Great to see the 2012 come around to its bouquet. Soft strawberry mid palate a bit short. tannins holding together and fine grained. Some years yet before this shows it’s full depth.
