Senses Wines Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2018

$55

95 points - new                                                             Fantastic new Pinot Noir discovery from and up-and-coming new label, Senses. Limited. 95 Points Jeb Dunnuck: "As with the Chardonnay, the appellation 2018 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast sees slightly less new oak than the Russian River Valley appellation cuvée and was brought up in just 5-10% new oak. Spiced cherries, blackberries, Asian spices, toasted bread, forest floor, and incense notes all emerge from the glass, and it's beautifully textured, medium-bodied, has ripe tannins, and nicely integrated acidity. It's another terrific wine from this team that will drink nicely for 7-8 years."  Senses Wines is a very promising project launched by three young guys from Occidental on the Sonoma Coast. Chris Strieter: MA in Finance and ex-Williams-Selyem Cellar Rat. Max Thieriot: Multi-generation grape grower and on-screen star of Bates Motel and Seal Team! Myles Lawrence-Briggs: Sonoma native returning home to learn the winemaking craft after a brief foray into English Literature. This trio are connected and committed to the wine business and knocking out some seriously impressive wines. They have now secured the inimitable talents of cult winemaker Thomas Rivers-Brown to craft their wines!

Not sure how many people are aware of this Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. If you are not I would highly recommend you check it out. Medium acids with earthy fruit and somehow very rich. I really enjoy this wine.
