Always one of the favorite California Zins we carry. 93 Points Wine Spectator: "Plump and luscious, this is jam-packed with fruit. Lively blackberry, pepper and other spice box aromas lead to ripe and rich flavors of black raspberry, caramel and licorice. There are more complex Zinfandels, but few that are more enjoyable to drink. Drink now through 2022." Wine Enthusiast: "You could use this as a teaching tool for classic Sonoma County Zinfandel. It's full-bodied, dry and spicy, with briary flavors of wild berries, mocha, tobacco, leather and exotic spices. More importantly, it's absolutely delicious. The grapes come from Seghesio's best vineyards in the Alexander and Dry Creek valleys. An astonishing value."

I can see why this was given a huge score by a certain publication. Not really my style as much, this tastes like a wine that could have been made by Dave Phinney or Charles Smith. Fruit forward with a polished mouthfeel and some darker flavors too. Definitely a very good value for the $$.

Still young yet promising, building on a consistent success of previous vintages, this is a solid classic and relatively elegant Zin. The color is almost black, the nose is lightly ripe with plums, black cherries, and the classical spicy notes of cinnamon, cloves and licorice. Body is medium full, with firm tannins that round up quickly and a light acidity to support this fruity flattering creation. Pleasant finish. My score 88, drink to 2021 perhaps longer

So, first crack, booze filled, acidic...obviously needs to open. 2nd day much improved..red raspberries, black and blue fruits. Slight spice, min oak, massive alcohol...lacks structure..not complex..i have to disagree on the 93 WS score...

Got it at a restaurant and for the retail price of probably somewhere in the low $20s not bad.

Pure blackberry fruit with a sweet smoky note in the nose. Blackberry fruit and an underbrush thing in the mouth. Very full body with a but of alcohol burn, but that worked well with homemade pasta in a rich meat sauce.

Fruit sweet nose with heavy alc. Blue fruit attack with soft mid palate inflection of thyme and oregano. A bit flat on the resolution.

RICH without being over the top, we'll balanced black fruit flavors, moderate acidity and ripe tannins. Good with food
