Schrader Cellars LPV Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

$289

98 Points Parker - limited                                 Limited new release from Schrader Cellars. 94 Points Robert Parker: The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard LPV is black/ruby, shows lots of charcoal, scorched earth and an almost Graves-on-steroids personality. Deep blueberry and blackberry fruit, a hint of coffee and chocolate are all present in this impressive, very different style of Cabernet Sauvignon from Schrader. This is Clone 337, planted in a St. Helena vineyard... ...After the remarkable performance of the 2012s, I would be hard-pressed to believe that Schrader could equal or eclipse that vintage, but they seem to have certainly equaled the quality of the 2012s. The 2013s are slightly more coiled and more tightly knit and with probably greater definition. That said, they all possess fabulous concentration and palate presence. Any of these will make a spectacular elixir/vinous treat to serve and consume over the next 25-30+ years."

Nice bottle. Not as good as the 13. IMO. Cheers . Structure was there, just fell a bit short on the length/ finish.

New Yorks au poivre as we celebrate the life of an amazing producer. We're deeply saddened by their decision to sell out

2012 vintage. Take you pick, Delectable, each one is brilliant in its own unique way. Maybe a slight edge to Bryant's Bettina if I had to pick a favorite.

Which red would you prefer? Both have their respective places in culinary history. On the left, big, bold and beautiful. Incredible finish, that lingers forever. On the right, simple timeless elegance. How do you decide?

Go big or go home! Perhaps the diametric opposite to the 60 yr old wine this was pared with. Excellent with a short decant

This is really tasty! Blueberry, blackberry, hints of blood orange, subtle nutmeg and vanilla. Prime drinking right now, no need to wait.

Great big, full bodied, oaked, Cabernet. Could use a few more years but delicious and drinkable now. Sweet dark fruit, leather, tobacco, oak.
