95 points - limited                                    New release from Rochioli!  The 2016 Sauvignon Blanc is 100% Estate grown with  limited production.  Rochioli wines are hand crafted and highly exclusive. 95 Points Wine & Spirits:  "If you’ve never been blown away by a California sauvignon blanc, you owe it to yourself to taste this wine. Over half of the fruit comes from an old vineyard that Joe Rochioli, Jr., planted in 1959; it’s now farmed by his son Tom. Old vines, as well as the sunny, temperate climate and stony soil along the banks of the Russian River, drew the fruit to a precise, focused intensity in 2016. You’ll find ripe, luscious flavors of papaya and peach –even redder tones of wild strawberry- tied to a profound sense of mineral depth. For all of its power, the fruit remains vivid and mouthwatering, as pure as spring water." Luke Sykora 94 Points Wine Enthusiast With three generations of dedication to the land, Rochioli Vineyards and Winery  has earned the reputation as one of Sonoma County’s finest wineries. The decades  long tradition of outstanding vintages continues today with wines that consistently  receive rave reviews and 90+ scores. Always in demand, always revered and  always rated among the best varietals sought after around the world.

16' Rochioli Sauvignon Blanc. Not quite 60% of this SB comes from vines planted in 1959. Three single vineyards in total. Palate- Lemon, green apple, grapefruit, tangy & zesty. Dusty minerality throughout the palate. Perfect amount of acidity. The finish is long & lingers for a bit. Perfect pairing with swordfish. Very enjoyable bottle. Edit- Let it warm up and open up for about 20 minutes in your glass.

Some of the best Sauvignon Blanc I’ve ever enjoyed. Crisp with a smooth finish.

Pale color almost white. Herbal faint grapefruit aromas. Light and fruity on entry with smooth but one dimensional flavor that does linger in the posterior palate. Nice wine but the Old vine Sauvignon is more elegant.

Great expression. The initial fruit gave way to minerally accents. Such great depth and length from a white. Delicious wine.
