Rochioli Estate Grown Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2009

$72

Rare release from Russian River cult Pinot producer Rochioli. With three generations of dedication to the land, Rochioli Vineyards and Winery has earned the reputation as one of Sonoma County's finest wineries. This family legacy began in 1938, when Joe Rochioli Sr. purchased land he had long farmed. He had the foresight to know that the soil of the Russian River Valley would one day produce some of the world's greatest wines. His son Joe Jr. embraced this vision and today craft renowned, terrior-driven wines built on a foundation of superb fruit. 92 Points Robert Parker: "The 2009 Pinot Noir Estate exhibits copious cherry aromas intermixed with hints of root vegetables and spring flowers. It is a soft, round, generous, pure, strikingly seductive Pinot Noir to drink over the next 5-6 years."

Color is starting to fade but not brackish at all. Very pretty fruit. Dried plum, cherry, anise and fig. Beautifully nuanced and subtle. Excellent example of 10 year old rrv Pinot

Wow! This is just wonderful right now. Jammy and sticky with an amazing finish. A little sweet but oh so worth it.

Dark contrast for a Pinot. Typical smell for Russian river. Initial taste was wonderful with very flavorful body. Bite at the end. Needs to sit for 30 mins

No reason to get the single vineyard when this is as good as it is.

A great Pinot, complex favors that show some tight berry (black and wild) that expand slowly. Light mineralogy but the lively flavors balance nicely.

Red fruits and restrained supple tannins. Holds up 24 hours out. Delish not superlative.

It's California Pinot Noir. Fruit and Alcohol, yep. But If you let open in the glass you get pomegranite, rasberry, clove spice. Develops to cedar, vanilla, caramel and smoke.
