Robert Mondavi Winery Reserve Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

$99

Robert Mondavi's new release of the limited Reserve Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.96 Points Antionio Galloni: "The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve boasts stunning depth, power and richness. Exotic, powerful and structured, the 2010 emerges from the glass with masses of dark fruit, smoke, licorice, menthol, plums and cloves. Today, the 2010 Reserve is naturally quite primary, but all the ingredients are there for it to develop into a spectacular wine...An exotic melange of blackberries, blueberries, menthol, tar and licorice round out the sumptuous finish. What a gorgeous wine this is."95 points Robert Parker:  "The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve (a blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc) exhibits a dense purple color, more tannin, structure and spice, terrific richness and plenty of black currant, vanillin and loamy soil characteristics. Given past track records, this full-bodied, impressive Reserve should easily age for 25-35 years."

A few wines from last week’s 4th Friday event! At 9/10yrs, this is starting to fire on all cylinders. Very dusty on the nose. Rich black cherries, clove, cardamom, and some leather too. It sports a soft yet powerful profile of fig, potpourri, graham cracker, dark cocoa and an integrated finish. Balanced at the moment, and may even improve over the next 2-3yrs. Thanks @Bill Makens .

Very nice wine. Well structured with soft tannins and a nice finish at the end. Paired with a fillet steak, roasted veggies and a baked potato.
