Another beautiful wine from Keenan's Spring Mountain winery. Discover this winery before its too late! 91 Points Wine & Spirits: "Good Merlot can often seem workmanlike, this one satisfied to hit fragrant notes of ripe cherries with clarity. It’s not pushed, and though there’s oak present in the tannins, it frames the fruit well."Robert Parker: "Micheal Keenan has done an incredible job at this Spring Mountain winery over the last 10-15 years, producing one of the finest Cabernet Francs in all of northern California as well as hitting all cylinders with his other Bordeaux varietals such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot as well as his sumptuous blend called Mernet."

Rated this an 89 about a year and a half ago and my rating is unchanged today. Not my choice to open and sorta relied on the person who chose it to finish it off. Mushroom funk like the last time. Muted fruit. Some earthy characteristics but never came to life. Disjointed. Uninspiring. Disappointing as I quite like Keenan wines on a whole.

Definitely a dry merlot, but we enjoyed it with a "fall" flavor meal.

Very tannic, wished I had paired it with a magnificent lamb dinner. Still tasty

Not a typical merlot. Given the big fruit and spice it drank more like a zin, which I like. Definitely going to look for this at this store.

Christnas day Merlot. Very good wine for the money. Not normally a Merlot fan but this was excellent
